![]() ![]() Someone might make a MiSTer core for it one day. Scott has lost whatever the development costs are. Now that the ROMs are out there, I expect no-one will be prepared to pay for it, anyway. It isn't available for purchase yet, anyway. He doesn't actually have the necessary rights to do this legally, and is probably just hoping that no-one will sure him because he isn't rich enough to collect damages. Scott has been talking about how he's developing an FPGA-based reproduction of Marble Madness 2 hacked to allow trackball controls. Everyone realised it was a pretty lame game and failed location testing for a reason. He was massively butthurt when the Akka Arrh ROMs appeared and the game was emulated. He never misses an opportunity to remind everyone that they can only play these games on his terms. He's been taking his Marble Madness 2 machine and other prototypes to California Extreme for decades. This nicely rains on Scott’s parade, and greatly reduces the amount of publicity he can drum up for his FPGA-based hack.Ī well-known collector/hoarder who also goes by the name "safe stuff". My guess is that the guy who has a complete proto got sick of Scott’s attention whoring, and his plan to sell an “exclusive FPGA-based reproduction” or whatever it is, as though he actually owns intellectual property rights to the game (the successors to Infogrammes own the rights as far as I can determine). He doesn’t have the only copy out there, he’s just the only person with a copy who’s been using it for the purpose of attention-whoring. He got a board set with no ROMs, and begged a guy who’d bought a complete proto as well as a former Atari employee (presumably Bob Flannagan) to give him ROMs so he could repair it. Scott didn’t even buy a complete machine. The only reason people care about it is because Scott has been parading around the fact that he has a copy of it. It was also a shit game made when Atari was dominating development of shit games, like Danger Express, Pit Fighter, Guardians of the Hood, etc. Join us at /r/EmuDev Android Emulator accuracy tests:Īre you an emulator developer?
